Lead Business Development Manager

Join our dynamic Business Development & Marketing Department as a Lead Business Development Manager. In this pivotal role, you will strategically implement our Business Development initiatives and drive marketing efforts that significantly contribute to client engagement and revenue growth.

Collaborating closely with attorneys and leadership in your assigned practice groups, you will be at the forefront of developing new business opportunities and mentoring fellow Business Development professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as a trusted advisor to attorneys by leveraging in-depth industry knowledge and business acumen to strengthen existing client relationships and cultivate new prospects.
• Partner with attorneys to develop actionable business development strategies tailored for specific practice and department needs.
• Establish and manage data metrics that align with overall business plans and client pipelines.
• Deepen engagement with clients to effectively understand their legal and business needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Identify potential cross-selling opportunities, enhancing service offerings for both new and existing clients.
• Lead the preparation of informal proposals and formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Requests for Information (RFIs), collaborating with attorneys and relevant teams to ensure strategic and competitive proposals.
• Track and cultivate new business opportunities consistently within your practice areas.
• Enhance brand awareness for your assigned practice areas through well-crafted programming for clients and prospects.
• Collaborate with Knowledge Management to conduct strategic research on clients, competitors, and market trends to inform business strategy development.
• Evaluate and align annual marketing budget requests with business plans, optimizing for revenue potential.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5-7 years of business development or marketing experience, particularly in a legal or professional services environment, is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to operate under pressure with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven project management skills and capacity to collaborate effectively while also being a self-starter.
• Strong understanding of business development practices specific to professional services and law firms.
• Exceptional presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities, especially in coaching attorneys to win new business and drive revenue.

This position is based in an office environment operating with standard office equipment. It will require sitting for extended periods, but some walking and standing may be necessary to fulfill job functions.
