The Parks Division of the King County Department of Natural Resources & Parks has an exciting and engaging opportunity for a seasoned human resource leader to join a dynamic and highly skilled HR team focused on service delivery to our clients.
This recruitment is to fill a Special Duty Assignment or Term Limited Temporary Position that is anticipated to last for 1 year.The Human Resource Manager II is an integral member of the Parks Management Team and leads all facets of HR for the organization. As an HR leader, your work assists the Parks Division towards its successful delivery of our mission and stewardship of public facilities and natural landscapes.
The Human Resource Manager II for the division provides steady and thoughtful leadership in the execution of HR service delivery as well as aligning our people strategy and business with our wider departmental priorities and projects.
This role has daily oversight of multiple HR services, including but not limited to recruitment, employee and labor relations, disability services and workplace accommodations, protected leave administration, organizational planning and strategy, position control, and process improvement.
Additionally, this position acts as a liaison for county partners on behalf of the organization and will interact regularly with the King County Department of Human Resources, Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, King County Office of Labor Relations, and others.
This position will report jointly to the Department Human Resources Manager III and the Parks Division Director to support the successful execution of divisional goals and departmental HR initiatives.
This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
