Head of Operations

After 19 years building MADCo. Studio into a name known for luxury and celebrity events, we are hiring the person who will run it day to day.

MADCo. Studio is looking for a Head of Operations. The senior operator who owns production, the team, the vendors, the P&L, and the client relationship end to end, so MADCo. can grow beyond the founder.This is for someone who has run high-stakes events and wants to own a business, not shadow a founder.

You build the crew, protect the margins, direct the load-in and the load-out, and hold the standard our clients expect. Whilst the founder sets the creative vision, the head of operations runs the machine and client services.

Full-time, on-site in Los Angeles. Base from $84,000 plus a year-end performance bonus. Starting this fall, onboarding through our quieter pre-season into the full role in the new year.

We create highly personalized celebrations and elevated brand experiences for VIP, celebrity, and high-net-worth clients, with nineteen years of work behind the name. We are known for impeccable execution, exceptional design sensibility, and white-glove, discreet client service.

We are entering a deliberate new chapter. The Founder is moving into a Founder and Creative Director role focused on creative vision and brand, and we are building a studio that runs as a true agency: systematized and led day to day by a senior operator. This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of an established luxury brand and run it.

The Role

As Head of Operations, you own MADCo. Studio as a business. You run production end to end, lead the team and vendors, serve as the client’s direct line, and carry full responsibility for the studio’s financial performance. You are the senior person who makes the studio run, and most clients will work with you rather than the Founder.

The Founder remains Creative Director. She sets the creative vision and is personally present at the defining moments of select premium events. Everything else is yours: the planning, the vendors, the staff, the budgets, the client relationship, the load-in and the load-out, and the standards that define the brand.

What you own

• Financial performance. Full profit-and-loss responsibility for the studio. You build every event budget, hold margin discipline, and own the result.
• Client relationships. You are the direct line for clients from the first planning conversation through post-event follow-up. You set expectations, lead meetings and proposals, solve problems, and protect the experience.
• Revenue and pipeline. Own the sales pipeline and convert inbound inquiries into booked events: pricing, proposals, consultations, upsells, and repeat and referral business. Lead generation runs through the Founder and marketing; you convert and grow it.
• Vendors. Sourcing, negotiation, and long-term relationships with venues, designers, florists, caterers, entertainment, production companies, and luxury service partners. You negotiate to protect both the client and the studio’s margin.
• Team. Hiring, scheduling, mentoring, and managing producers, coordinators, and on-site staff and contractors. You build the crew and hold it to a standard.
• Studio operations. Inventory, kit, systems, documentation, and the daily standards that keep production consistent across every engagement.
• Inventory and fabrication. Own inventory quantities, condition, maintenance, and repairs, and manage production of custom-made pieces for MADCo. and for the founder’s client projects, from specification through delivery.
• White-label production. Onboard and manage white-label partners such as fabricators and printers operating under the MADCo. name, so MADCo. delivers as an all-in-one producer while protecting brand standards.
• Growth. As the studio scales, you build the team and help move operations into a dedicated studio space.

Day to day, you will

• Oversee the full lifecycle of every event, from lead conversion through final execution and post-event close.
• Build and maintain project timelines, production schedules, budgets, and deliverables, and keep every event on schedule and on margin.
• Identify risks and operational gaps early and implement solutions before they reach the client.
• Manage multiple concurrent events without losing attention to detail or service quality.
• Lead client meetings and proposals, and participate in consultations that convert prospects into signed engagements.
• Direct on-site execution, including logistics, staffing, travel, vendor coordination, load-in, and load-out.

Who You Are

• five or more years in luxury or celebrity event production, experiential marketing, or high-end event production, with real leadership and ownership in your background rather than coordination alone.
• You have carried budget or P&L responsibility and can show how you protected margin under pressure.
• You negotiate hard with vendors and keep the relationships strong.
• You hire, direct, and hold a team to a standard, and people do their best work for you.
• You are polished and discreet with high-expectation, high-net-worth, and celebrity clients, and composed when something goes wrong on site.
• You are fluent in pop culture and in what makes an event feel extraordinary.
• You understand that events are physically demanding and time-bound, and you are willing and able to be on site for load-in, the event, and load-out, including evenings and weekends.
• You take ownership. When something is wrong, you fix it without waiting to be told.
