We are currently seeking full-time Teaching Assistants to help our students achieve academic success while working alongside dedicated educators and clinicians. At the O-School, you'll play an essential role in supporting students with mental health challenges and those on the autism spectrum.

Position Details

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pmSummer schedule: Shortened academic day with time off in July and AugustLocation: Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School, Chicago, IL

Responsibilities

• Role
• As a Teaching Assistant, you'll provide direct support to elementary or high school aged students in the classroom, working alongside teachers and other staff members to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Your role will include assisting with:
• Academic instruction and classroom management
• Supporting students with emotional disabilities and/or autism
• Providing individualized academic support and promoting social-emotional growth
• Implementing strategies that combine strong curriculum and clinical insight to support each student's unique needs

What We're Looking For

• To Be Considered, We're Looking For Candidates Who Have
• A Bachelor's degree (preferably in counseling or education)
• Illinois State Certification, Type 39 (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• Background in elementary or secondary education (preferred)
• Experience working with students with emotional disabilities or autism (preferred)
• A commitment to a strengths-based approach and empowerment of families
