Role Description The Embedded Software Engineer – Avionics will work on-site in Phoenix, AZ in a contract role, contributing to the development, integration, and maintenance of embedded software for avionics systems. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing software modules, writing and reviewing code, performing unit and integration testing, and debugging issues in embedded environments.

The role involves collaborating with hardware and systems engineering teams to ensure proper software-hardware integration, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and alignment with project requirements. The engineer will also participate in documentation of designs, test results, and change control, while supporting continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded avionics software using C/C++.
• Perform software development in compliance with DO-178C (DAL A preferred).
• Create and manage software requirements using IBM DOORS.
• Develop and maintain software certification artifacts, including requirements, traceability, and documentation.
• Conduct code reviews, builds, and configuration management.
• Support flight test integration and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and data flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
