Role

Assigning EHS responsibilities as add-ons to current staff dilutes focus, increases risk, and limits the impact of safety initiatives. A standalone EHS position ensures accountability, specialized expertise, and consistent implementation of best practices across all business units maximizing capabilities for data collection, trend analysis, and actionable safety insights.

Responsibilities

• Enhanced Communication: A dedicated EHS specialist will serve as a central point of contact, streamlining information flow to and from business units. This ensures timely dissemination of critical safety updates, regulatory changes, and best practices.
• Identification of Leading Indicators: Leveraging advanced analytics, the specialist will proactively identify emerging risks, enabling the organization to take preventative action before incidents occur.
• Continual Improvement: By systematically evaluating safety processes and outcomes, the specialist will drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of safety excellence and innovation.
• Development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): The specialist will create and monitor targeted KPIs, providing leadership with clear, data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.
• Data Sharing and Collaboration: Improved data management and transparency will empower business units with the information needed to own and enhance their safety performance.
• Governance Council Impact: The specialist will provide high-quality data and analysis to the governance council, supporting effective oversight and process improvements at the highest levels of the organization.
