WIILMA seeks a creative, strategic volunteer to develop and co-lead the growth of a dynamic Volunteer film/photography team.

By creating high-quality, professional documentaries and photo stories, you are not just documenting events; you are building evidence of our impact, which directly helps change minds , policy and will assist in attracting funding, partnerships, and further volunteers.

This role supports our core mission of amplifying voices of marginalised communities, cohesion and promoting equity. We believe that everyone deserves to experience high-quality arts and culture, regardless of their seen or unseen disabilities. Your work will specifically support the creation of clear, visual counter-narratives.

Your work will fight the social isolation we seek to tackle by highlighting the joy and connection experienced in our projects. By showcasing these moments, you make our community, its history, and its culture tangible to a wider audience, reducing loneliness and fostering a stronger sense of belonging.

As a leader, you are also empowering other volunteers, helping to create a robust, resilient team that sustains our work. In short, your visual leadership ensures that WIILMA's message of "telling our truth" is seen, heard, and respected.

What are we looking for?

Skills

• Proficient in photography with a strong eye for composition and detail.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe InDesign, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong video editing skills with the ability to create compelling narratives through visual storytelling.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

What will you be doing?

Are you a passionate creative looking to use your skills for social good? WIILMA, is an innovative London-based organisation, seeking a dynamic Volunteer Co-Lead for our Film & Photography Team.

As co-lead you will be responsible for building and developing a creative team.

The team will comprise of roles you determine necessary, such as assistant producers, filmmakers, editors, photographers, a production manager,a production coordinator and assistants.

If you are passionate about social justice, love visual storytelling, and able to coordinate, lead & mentor junior volunteers we want to hear from you. This is a chance to play a key role in shaping how our community tells its own stories.

An opportunity to lead, innovate, and create while fighting for a more inclusive society. As Co-Lead, you will work with a counterpart to lead and mentor a team of talented volunteer creatives.

You won’t just be covering events; you will be telling the stories of people who are often unheard, supporting our advocacy projects to influence a bigger change, showcasing innovative music, arts, and heritage interventions that bring communities together.

This role is about capturing authentic moments, from behind-the-scenes glimpses at our workshops to the energy of a live, inclusive performance.

Key Responsibilities And Deliverables

You will oversee & enable the visual storytelling journeys of our projects, ranging from small-scale workshops to large community festivals.

• Co-Leadership & Team Building With HR, shortlist, recruit, mentor, and schedule a team of volunteer filmmakers and photographers, and foster a collaborative, creative environment.
• Documentation Strategy Develop a plan for capturing high-quality photographs and video footage of community events, workshops, and performances. This includes documenting our work to demonstrate impact to stakeholders.
• Content Creation Produce diverse visual content, including short documentaries, event recaps, and interviews that highlight the voices of marginalised communities, including accessibility and inclusion to the Arts.
• WIILMA Health - our health inequalities projects ranging from Adult ADHD to Cancer awareness.
• Social Media & Promotion Produce/oversee the production of engaging short-form video and high-quality photography suitable for Instagram, Twitter, and other platforms to promote WIILMA’s work.
• Editing & Post-Production Oversee the editing process for video deliverables, ensuring all content is produced in line with our brand identity and quality standards.
• Equipment & Workflow Work with the team to manage our media assets, archiving.

Key Priorities/Deliverables

• Develop a scheduling system for the volunteer team to cover our events and projects.
• Produce or oversee the production of a short-form videos ideally monthly highlighting some aspect of our work.
• Help communicate visual content highlights the accessibility of our spaces and activities.
• Help develop a consistent aesthetic for our social media coverage of projects.
