HR Generalist - People & Culture Manager

Prestige Legal Solutions, P.C. is a Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in California lemon law. We represent consumers across the state who have purchased defective vehicles and are committed to delivering exceptional legal representation with professionalism, efficiency, and results.

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our growing team. This is an on-site position based in Los Angeles, CA 90048 and is ideal for a people-focused HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience while supporting performance, engagement, and organizational growth.

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the firm's employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation support, engagement initiatives, and talent development.

This role partners closely with leadership and the HR Operations Manager to ensure employees receive an outstanding experience while maintaining compliance with California employment laws and company policies

What You'll Do

• Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including weekly office lunches, breakfasts, birthday celebrations, milestone recognitions, holiday events, and team-building activities
• Promote a positive workplace culture by creating meaningful employee recognition and engagement programs
• Partner with managers and leadership to support employee performance management, including Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
• Coach managers on documentation, communication, and best practices related to employee performance conversations
• Track employee performance plans and support consistent implementation across departments
• Partner with leadership on compensation discussions, including new hire offers, merit increases, promotions, and salary benchmarking
• Support performance review cycles, goal setting, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
• Identify high-potential employees and assist managers with career development planning
• Coordinate and monitor required employee compliance training, including California-mandated harassment prevention training
• Draft and distribute offer letters while coordinating onboarding with hiring managers and internal departments
• Manage the end-to-end onboarding experience, ensuring new hires have a seamless and welcoming first-day experience
• Conduct regular 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins with new hires to support successful integration
• Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution
• Support employee offboarding processes while ensuring a positive transition experience
• Assist with employee relations matters and workplace investigations as needed
• Partner with the HR Operations Manager regarding leave administration, payroll, benefits, and HR compliance questions
• Maintain and update employee policies, procedures, and handbook documentation
• Support global contractor administration, including onboarding, offboarding, agreement management, compliance documentation, and periodic audits
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance the overall employee experience

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field required
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Previous law firm experience required
• Working knowledge of California employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, leave administration, harassment prevention requirements, and employee relations
• Experience supporting employee performance management, compensation discussions, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
• Strong organizational and project management abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee matters
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Experience with ADP or another HRIS platform preferred
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred
• Experience supporting global contractors is a plus
