Job Description
- The Project Manager II is an Information Technology (IT) position that will manage components of highly complex and visible projects and/or program initiatives.
- This role will follow project management methodologies and governance processes to deliver work products on time and within a set budget.
- The role will also collaborate with the end-user and key stakeholders to provide status updates and gather requirements, with the vendor on their implementation and delivery of contract deliverables, and with the internal IT Team.
- The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining and managing the timeline for multiple projects.
- Further, this individual will work to identify project risks and issues and proactively manage a plan to mitigate the risks and resolve the issues.

- Experience with general IT SDLC processes.
- Experience with implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience with mediating business units that may have conflicting requirements.
- Experience driving systems integration delivery projects from 3rd party vendors to delivery acceptance and project closure.
- Experience with preparing and presenting executive level project communications, project tracking and stakeholder management.
- Ability to create and maintain several project artifacts including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register etc.
- Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Responsible for project scope delivery adhering to and optimizing schedule, costs, and resources. Projects include TxDOT, partners, and third-party deliverables.
- Acts as the counterpart for vendors program leader to ensure customer satisfaction and be the escalation point for service delivery activities.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a creative thinker to solve issues.
- Must be hands-on-project manager for multiple projects
- Experience managing all phases of large and complex technical projects.
- Experience creating and maintaining project artifacts including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.
- Experience with general IT SDLC processes.
- Experience identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks and issues.
- Experience preparing and presenting executive-level project communications, project tracking, and stakeholder management.
- Skilled in gathering requirements from business divisions.
- Skilled in educating business unit staff on standardized processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with peers, end users, and executive leadership.
- Skilled in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled in collaborating with technical and functional teams to develop Technical Specifications and supporting documentation.
- Hands-on project manager with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.
Preferred
- Experience with one or more State of Texas government agencies.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience mediating business units with conflicting requirements.
- Experience driving systems integration delivery projects from third-party vendors through delivery acceptance and project closure.

- CBAP and/or PMP certification.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and automation to improve project planning, scheduling, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery outcomes while ensuring appropriate governance, security, quality, and human oversight.
