A major national technology transformation programme is building its internal delivery capability and is seeking a Delivery Manager to join the permanent core of the IT Delivery function. This is a hands‑on, high‑accountability leadership role that governs programme discipline across multiple delivery squads while directly carrying a workstream of your own.

The Delivery Manager is not an administrative PMO position — it is a practice‑lead role responsible for setting delivery standards, driving cross‑squad coordination, and ensuring momentum across a complex multi‑vendor ecosystem.

About the Role

As the Delivery Manager, you will be the programme management practice lead across all delivery squads. You will:

• Set the RAID, reporting, milestone, and delivery governance standards that all squad PMs follow
• Run cross‑squad dependency management, surfacing risks and conflicts early before they become crises
• Carry a delivery workstream directly, operating as both a leader and a hands‑on contributor
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architect, Integration Lead, Product Lead, and Testing Lead to maintain delivery cohesion
• Ensure vendor teams, contract squads, and internal stakeholders remain aligned on timelines, scope, and execution discipline
• Drive delivery momentum across a multi‑phase programme with multiple platforms going live in parallel

This role sits within a small, high‑calibre permanent team that governs standards and accountability while contract squads scale up to provide implementation capacity.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience in programme or project delivery across complex, multi‑vendor environments
• Proven ability to manage cross‑team dependencies, risks, and delivery conflicts
• Hands‑on delivery capability — you must be comfortable owning a workstream, not only coordinating others
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in enterprise platform delivery, large transformation programmes, or multi‑system integration environments is highly advantageous
• A pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset — able to make trade‑offs under time pressure and keep teams moving
