What you'll do

In this role, you'll use customer insight to power ideation, design and innovation across a range of methodologies. You'll lead the development of strategy documents, funding proposals, business cases, thought leadership and executive materials so all propositions align with the bank's overall strategy.

You'll shape and lead innovation and strategy development across digital assets and payments, building a balanced pipeline of opportunities. Using human-centred design approaches, you'll develop ideas from concept through to delivery while making sure risks and issues are identified, managed and escalated proactively to protect customers and the bank.

Working closely with open innovation teams and our franchise partners, you'll help bring ideas to life at scale.

Your work will focus on

• Leading the design of our customer experiences, technologies, services and processes to align with product strategies and keep our customers safe and secure
• Overseeing end-to-end delivery, embedding Agile methodologies to rapidly develop and release value to our customers
• Driving adoption of innovative product and delivery approaches, including thought leadership in areas such as Agentic AI, while fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous innovation
• Working across the organisation to align stakeholders, securing funding, unlocking value and building momentum for digital assets and payments innovation
• Engaging with the fintech ecosystem, identifying potential collaborations and partnerships to drive better customer outcomes

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll bring experience delivering digital products and driving innovation, with a strong track record of developing and launching new propositions. You'll also have experience working in Agile environments, using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban to deliver value effectively.

You'll combine this with strong creative thinking skills and the ability to operate in large, complex and evolving environments. You'll be confident managing a wide range of stakeholders, collaborating across teams and sharing knowledge to help build capability.

You'll also need

• Experience using innovation and design thinking methodologies, with the ability to guide others in applying these approaches to develop new products and services
• An understanding of customer research techniques, using a range of methods to generate insights and inform decision-making
• Experience in strategy development, translating complex or ambiguous information into clear recommendations and actionable plans
• Knowledge of the payments and digital assets landscape, including key trends, technologies and market dynamics
