Key Account Manager
Location: Raleigh, NC

What You Ll Do
Our client is looking for a Key Account Manager to join their Team! Responsibilities include:
- Identifies, documents, and develops sales strategies for new business opportunities (NBO) at existing and new Key Accounts.
- Provides input into the MCDIP (Marketing, Concept, Development, Industrialization, Production) process as the voice of the customer. Ensures participation of required stakeholders at project management meetings. Follows the process requirements of the organization management system.
- Develops account strategies, updates and communicates the situation reflecting current status on a regular basis.
- Develops annual business plans as it pertains to the assigned market segment.
- Documents current and planned sales opportunities (price, volume, revenue) in SAP, providing all required documentation.
- Answers RFQ s (requests for quotation) in a timely and professional manner. Manages specification review and product costing with development teams, and presents required documentation for required levels of approvals. Assesses technical, commercial, and environmental risks of new projects. Reviews and leads the negotiation of contractual documents between and customers.
- Collaborates with marketing for regular updates on communication and competitive intelligence.
- Provides data for new automotive market segments, regulatory issues/opportunities, industry trade shows/congresses/government forums and provides analysis of competitors product strategy in the market.
- Attends selected industry events as appropriate (trade shows, customer events).
- Represents the voice of the customer within and facilities functional discussions as appropriate. (Program Management, Operations, Quality, Accounting, etc.)
- Develops and maintains relationships at multiple organizational levels with customers and engages management at appropriate levels as required. Identifies influencers and decision makers at customers.
- Makes recommendations regarding new product/market opportunities and associated price strategy.
- Understands the higher level corporate long range plans and strategy and ensure that the plans are being executed as relevant for the position.
- Responsible for all existing customer negotiations throughout the product life cycle (AIF, profit improvement, OES, warranty).
- Up to 20% Domestic and International travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Four year business degree, technical curiosity or aptitude required OR Technical Degree, Engineering degree preferred.
- Three to five years of sales or related business experience within the automotive industry.
- Knowledge in the field of engine or drivetrain technologies.
- Extensive sales network within the automotive industry at target customers.
- Commercial, sales, business aptitude required.
- Basic financial skills required.
- Working knowledge of email, MS Office suite of tools required.
- Knowledge of SAP environment preferred.
- Knowledge of technical trends for alternative propulsion systems (CE, BEV, EV).
- Strong sales skills are required. Identify, pursue, determine decision criteria, and drive to win business. Highly self-motivated.
- Good communication and presentation skills with demonstrated poise in front of customers.
- High self-confidence with strong values in regards to honesty and authenticity.
- Sets the correct image representing company.
- Team player and the ability to interface at all organizational layers within a multi-national corporation.
- Ability to quickly analyze information and be decisive in recommended actions.
