Financial Analyst I
11th Hour Service is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst I to support a Department of the Interior (DOI) financial services program at the Denver Federal Center in Denver, Colorado.
This position provides accounting, federal travel, transaction processing, reconciliation, and financial data management support using government-approved accounting and travel systems. The Financial Analyst will process domestic and international travel vouchers, calculate travel advances and entitlements, audit financial transactions, and support payment certification with the U.S. Treasury.
The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of federal accounting principles, Federal Travel Regulations, fund accounting, and automated financial systems. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, professional communication, and the ability to work effectively in a structured, compliance-driven federal environment.

Core Responsibilities
- Process domestic and international travel and Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) vouchers.
- Calculate travel advances and monitor outstanding travel advances.
- Assist with determining travel entitlements in accordance with General Services Administration guidelines and Federal Travel Regulations.
- Compute and process payments for travel vouchers.
- Post government charge card adjustments into Oracle Federal Financials and the Financial and Business Management System.
- Audit selected samples of travel vouchers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Certify client agency travel payments with the U.S. Treasury.
- Analyze, reconcile, and interpret federal financial data.
- Support financial activities involving deposit funds, vendor payments, cash collections, unliquidated obligations, and property.
- Prepare accurate financial reports in final form.
- Enter, maintain, and review financial data within automated accounting systems.
- Assist with accounting and financial studies, reviews, surveys, task forces, and special assignments.
- Support projects involving automated accounting system design, processes, and operations.
- Coordinate financial assignments with employees, customers, and representatives from multiple organizations.
- Communicate financial, accounting, and staffing information clearly in writing and during verbal discussions.
Min Qualifications
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, concepts, and theories.
- Ability to apply accounting principles to a variety of financial problems.
- Knowledge of fund accounting principles and practices within a federal government environment.
- Experience analyzing, reconciling, and interpreting financial data.
- Ability to accurately process financial transactions and prepare financial reports.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Google Chrome and related browser-based applications.
- Knowledge of Federal Travel Regulations and federal travel procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate assignments and interact professionally with employees and customers from different organizations.
- Ability to work within established federal policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

- Experience supporting the Department of the Interior or another federal government agency.
- Experience processing domestic and international federal travel vouchers.
- Familiarity with General Services Administration travel requirements.
- Experience with Concur Government Edition.

- Experience with Oracle Federal Financials.
- Experience certifying agency payments through the U.S. Treasury.
- Experience with deposit funds, vendor payments, cash collections, unliquidated obligations, or federal property accounting.
- Experience supporting financial system reviews, process improvements, or automated accounting system projects.
- Understanding of client-specific federal financial procedures and regulations.
