About The Opportunity

A leading industrial services provider supporting major steel manufacturing operations is seeking an experienced Shredder Operations Manager to join its team. This organization delivers essential on-site services, innovative technology, and operational expertise that help improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact across steel production facilities.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and is passionate about safety, performance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of a large-scale metal shredder and downstream separation systems
• Lead and supervise a team of approximately 12 union employees, ensuring productivity and safety
• Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, operations, and site leadership to meet performance goals
• Identify, document, and resolve safety, maintenance, and operational issues
• Manage parts inventory, budgeting, and capital improvement projects
• Support maintenance planning and coordinate equipment upkeep to minimize downtime
• Participate in site leadership meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including basic statistical analysis
