• Our client, a major international organisation, is looking for a Data Specialist to support the development of a new medical platform.

The role sits within a medical environment and focuses on the structuring, accessibility, quality and analytical use of medical data. The Data Specialist will contribute to building a robust and clinically meaningful data framework, ensuring that historical medical data remains usable, and supporting the progressive development of reliable analytical outputs for research and decision-making.

Purpose of the RoleThe Data Specialist will support the development of the new medical platform by helping to define a solid data structure, maintain the accessibility and usability of historical medical data, and progressively become an independent analytical partner for the medical unit.

The role will involve translating platform data into clear, evidence-informed insights to support research, reporting and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the medical unit and external software developers to define the logical data structure, variable architecture and metadata required for the platform.
• Help ensure that historical medical data remains accessible, interpretable and usable within the evolving platform environment.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, definitions, field logic and validation rules, to support long-term platform integrity.
• Analyse datasets with a scientific and critical mindset, going beyond simple data extraction to identify patterns, formulate questions and support analytical interpretation.
• Conduct exploratory and targeted analyses to support medical, scientific and strategic questions arising from platform data.
• Translate analytical outputs into clear summaries, dashboards or presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to the gradual development of reproducible analytical workflows and sound data governance practices.

Candidate Profile

Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, health informatics, computer science or a related field.

Basic knowledge of human anatomy and musculoskeletal injuries.

Demonstrated analytical ability through thesis work, applied projects, publications or prior research support experience.

Ability to think critically about data quality, structure, interpretation and methodological limitations.

Motivation to grow into an independent data specialist role, supporting a high-level medical research programme through strong analytical judgment.

Expected Experience5 years of experience in data analysis, data management, research support or a related field.

Experience working with structured datasets, longitudinal data or health data would be an asset.

Experience in research environments or interdisciplinary projects involving external providers would be an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Good working knowledge of at least one analytical language or software environment, such as R, Python, SPSS or SQL.Comfortable working with structured datasets, data validation processes and documentation of data definitions and logic.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with dashboards, databases or web-based platforms would be an advantage.
• Languages
• Fluent English required, both written and spoken.
