Senior Director, Infrastructure & Operations

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Infrastructure & Operations to lead the strategy, delivery, and ongoing evolution of enterprise technology services across a complex, multi-site organization.

Reporting directly to the CIO, this role is a key member of the IT leadership team and will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, security, and performance of the company's technology infrastructure while supporting critical business and manufacturing operations.

This leader will oversee a diverse organization consisting of managers, technical leaders, and individual contributors, providing vision, mentorship, and operational direction across infrastructure, cloud services, end-user support, service management, networking, and platform operations. The environment is primarily Microsoft-based and includes a blend of cloud and on-premises technologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong strategic leadership with hands-on operational expertise and understands how technology enables manufacturing, production, supply chain, and business continuity objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Infrastructure & Operations, ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and cost-effective technology services.
• Develop and execute technology roadmaps that align with business priorities, operational goals, and enterprise IT strategy.
• Direct the performance and continuous improvement of infrastructure platforms, operational support services, service management functions, and technology operations.
• Partner with business executives, plant leadership, and IT stakeholders to ensure technology services effectively support manufacturing and corporate operations.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, operational efficiencies, and service enhancements.
• Establish and monitor service-level metrics, operational KPIs, governance processes, and performance reporting.
• Ensure technology environments are resilient, scalable, and prepared to support business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
• Lead financial planning activities, including departmental budgeting, resource allocation, vendor management, contract negotiations, and cost optimization efforts.
• Collaborate with information security, audit, risk, and compliance teams to maintain alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams, including managers, technical leaders, and individual contributors, while supporting succession planning and talent development.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by providing recommendations on technology investments, operational risks, and strategic opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.15+ years of progressive IT experience with significant responsibility in infrastructure, operations, or enterprise technology environments.10+ years of leadership experience managing teams, managers, and technology leaders within large or complex organizations.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise infrastructure and operations functions within hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies and enterprise platforms.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure disciplines, including cloud services, networking, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, platform operations, automation, endpoint services, and business continuity.
• Proven ability to lead operational transformation, technology modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, contracts, and service performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive, technical, and business audiences.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of the technology requirements that enable plant operations, production systems, supply chain processes, and operational uptime.

Proven track record partnering with business leaders to balance operational reliability, risk management, user experience, and long-term technology strategy.

Experience developing scalable organizations and leading geographically dispersed teams.
