Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with 5–6 years of experience managing government construction projects, preferably within New York City and New York State agencies, to lead and oversee complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
This dynamic role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in construction management, project scheduling, contract administration, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience working with public agencies, managing regulatory requirements, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving project success through effective management of budgets, schedules, quality, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other construction management software to coordinate all phases of construction.
- Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial tracking to ensure fiscal responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee construction site activities, ensuring safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth communication and project progression.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of design specifications.
- Utilize tools like ProCore, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, HeavyBid, and other construction estimating software for effective project documentation and management.
- Lead teams in managing construction schedules, resolving scheduling conflicts, and adjusting plans as needed for project efficiency.
- Manage project compliance with government agency requirements, contract obligations, inspections, reporting requirements, and public-sector construction standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor progress through regular site visits and reporting; address issues promptly to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with all local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards throughout the project duration.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Civil 3D, HeavyBid, and related tools.
- 5–6 years of experience managing government construction projects, including familiarity with New York City and New York State public agencies, construction processes, contract requirements, and agency compliance procedures.
- Knowledge of government construction requirements, public-sector contract administration, and coordination processes with agencies such as the NYC School Construction Authority (SCA), NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), Amtrak, and other public-sector entities.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling techniques and project coordination strategies for complex infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to manage budgets effectively while controlling costs without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Deep understanding of construction estimating processes and contract management practices.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and schematic development for diverse projects.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams within a construction management role; fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Familiarity with construction regulatory compliance requirements across various jurisdictions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately; experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating between stakeholders including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
