Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing multiple technology projects while adhering to established project management methodologies and governance processes. This role will ensure the successful delivery of project objectives on time and within budget.

The Project Manager will collaborate closely with business users, key stakeholders, third-party vendors, and internal IT teams to gather requirements, provide status updates, oversee implementation activities, and ensure successful delivery of contractual obligations and project milestones.

Additionally, this individual will maintain project timelines, proactively identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee multiple projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Follow established IT project management methodologies, governance standards, and SDLC processes.
• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular project updates.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure successful implementation, delivery acceptance, and project closure.
• Develop and maintain key project artifacts, including:
• Project Timelines
• Risk and Issue Logs
• Communication Plans
• Stakeholder Registers
• Status Reports and other project documentation
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
• Ensure project scope is delivered while optimizing schedules, costs, and resources.
• Manage project deliverables involving TxDOT, business partners, and third-party vendors.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor service delivery activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among technical teams, functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare and present executive-level communications, reports, and project updates.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with SAP implementations and integrations.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing all phases of large and complex technical projects.
• Minimum 7 years of experience creating and maintaining project artifacts such as:
• Project Timelines
• Risk and Issue Logs
• Communication Plans
• Stakeholder Registers
• Minimum 7 years of experience with IT Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
• Minimum 7 years of experience identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks and issues.
• Minimum 7 years of experience preparing and presenting executive-level project communications.
• Minimum 7 years of experience gathering business requirements from stakeholders and business units.
• Minimum 7 years of experience educating business users on standardized processes and procedures.
• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working with one or more Texas State Government agencies.
• CBAP and/or PMP certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and automation to improve project planning, scheduling, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery outcomes.
• Ability to effectively integrate AI-assisted capabilities into project management practices while ensuring appropriate governance, security, quality standards, and human oversight.
