• The Director, Business Solutions leads a defined portfolio within the Business Solutions practice, with accountability for revenue performance, delivery excellence, innovation execution, and tax research governance.
• This role oversees enterprise technology implementations, proprietary platforms, automation initiatives, and tax research operations that support Ryan’s Software Division and service lines.

Reporting to an executive leader within Business Solutions, the Director drives scalable, technology-enabled solutions while ensuring regulatory accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The role combines portfolio leadership, innovation oversight, tax domain expertise, and executive stakeholder engagement to advance Ryan’s position as a leading tax technology and services platform.

Leads, mentors, and develops professionals to ensure high performance and continuous growth.

Manages resource allocation, workload distribution, and performance management.

Creates and executes detailed project workplans, enforcing consistent methodologies and delivery standards.

Coordinates resources, timelines, and budgets across multiple concurrent implementations, tax research and innovation initiatives.

Builds strong internal partnerships to support seamless project execution.

ClientManages internal and external enterprise tax technology, automation and software implementation projects to completion.

Defines project scope, tasks, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Oversees functional and technical direction of projects, including detailed requirements analysis, process design, configuration, system integration, testing, deployment, and client onboarding.

Supports implementation of proprietary data products and enterprise tax automation platforms within the assigned practice or division.

Establishes processes to monitor adherence to project timelines and budgets and communicates variances proactively.

Prepares and reviews client deliverables, documentation, and engagement materials to ensure quality and accuracy.

Maintains master project resource plans and supports billing, forecasting, and financial tracking activities.

Maintains strong client relationships, responds to inquiries, and participates in proposals, engagement agreements, and onsite meetings.

ValueLeads execution of innovation and digital transformation initiatives aligned with enterprise and Business Solutions strategy.

Coordinates resources, timelines, budgets, and risk management across innovation and implementation portfolios.

Defines project success criteria, establishes KPIs, and monitors performance across automation, product, and research programs.

Enables strategic direction for process automation technologies and serves as a focal point for governance and best practices.

Oversees vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Minimum of 8-12 years of experience leading enterprise software implementations, tax technology projects, or digital transformation initiatives.

Demonstrated experience managing revenue-generating portfolios and leading managers or senior professionals.

Proven ability to drive profitability, regulatory accuracy, operational excellence, and client satisfaction across complex portfolios.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience working with enterprise systems, databases, reporting tools, project management platforms, or business applications.
• Familiarity with project management tools and collaboration platforms preferred.
