Overview
A growing medical device manufacturer is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of materials, inventory, and products across manufacturing, distribution, and field operations.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in supply chain management within a regulated manufacturing environment and thrive in a fast-paced setting that demands operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This position will oversee strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory management, planning, logistics, and field inventory programs while partnering closely with sales, marketing, product management, and manufacturing teams to deliver exceptional customer service and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Lead all material management functions, including sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and field inventory management.
- Analyze demand trends, inventory requirements, and supply chain performance data to support forecasting and decision-making.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to align production schedules with customer demand while minimizing excess inventory.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, service agreements, and supply contracts.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Establish and monitor key supply chain KPIs, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of database-driven inventory and asset tracking systems.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliations at distributor locations, customer sites, and field inventory locations.
- Review inventory utilization and recommend adjustments to optimize inventory deployment and customer readiness.
- Ensure shipment accuracy, inventory integrity, and overall operational efficiency across multiple locations.
- Provide leadership and development to supply chain team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, or materials management.
- Experience within the medical device, orthopedic, surgical manufacturing industries
- Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement, demand planning, logistics, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning methodologies.
- Proficiency with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated success implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple locations, including consignment or field inventory models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position based in the Dallas, Texas area.
- Monday through Friday, day shift schedule.
- Fast-paced, operationally intensive environment requiring daily hands-on involvement.
- Ability to occasionally lift and handle medical device inventory and instrument sets.
- Periodic travel required to support inventory reconciliations and field operations.
- Availability to support urgent operational issues outside normal business hours when necessary.
