The Impact You’ll Make

You won't just be crunching numbers—you will be transforming how we operate. By identifying root causes of discrepancies and collaborating with data engineering, you will help us transition from traditional manual settlements into automated, scalable workflows.

This role blends settlement operations and data analytics, challenging you to execute critical daily financial reconciliations while writing optimized SQL in Azure Synapse to automate those workflows into production data pipelines.

What You’ll Do

• Automate & Innovate: Leverage Azure Synapse Analytics to write optimized SQL queries that automate the ingestion, matching, and reconciliation of daily settlement data.
• Pipeline Development: Partner with our data engineering teams to transition manual file transfers into robust, automated data pipelines within the Azure ecosystem.
• Investigate & Resolve: Analyze historical transaction data and ACH return codes to uncover root causes of exception errors, recommending upstream improvements.
• Daily Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts, payments, receipts, billing, and processing fees to ensure absolute alignment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead the monthly reconciliation process for partner settlements and assist in UAT for new financial tools and integrations.
• Ensure Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.

What You Bring

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or equivalent professional experience in a banking/fintech operations role. High-volume settlement experience is a must.
• Technical Chops: Strong proficiency in SQL (Azure Synapse / Data Lake preferred) and experience building BI dashboards in Apache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Advanced Excel Skills: Mastery of XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data normalization to reconcile large datasets accurately during automation transitions.
• A "Detective" Mindset: Extreme attention to detail with the ability to investigate complex transaction discrepancies under strict daily cut-off times.
• Systems Familiarity: Experience navigating banking portals, payment gateways, and interpreting technical transaction logs.
• Communication: The ability to translate complex technical findings into clear action items for cross-functional teams.

Logistical Details

• Work Style: This is an on-site role at our central office in Dallas, Texas. Candidates must be local to the DFW area.
• Physical Requirements: Standard office environment applies (ability to use a computer/monitor for extended periods, manual dexterity, ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs). Occasional travel may be required for client visits or events.
