Job Title: Business Analyst – Capital Markets / Financial Services

Location: Toronto, ON (hybrid)

Duration: 6 months to start (possibility of extension)

Rate: CAD55-CAD60/hr

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets and Financial Services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on initiatives related to trade lifecycle management, clearing, settlement, custody, and depository services.

Experience with DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) is highly preferred; however, candidates with experience working with other market infrastructure providers, custodians, central securities depositories (CSDs), or clearing houses will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders across Operations, Technology, and Business teams.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.
• Work closely with technology teams to support solution design, testing, and implementation activities.
• Analyze current and future-state processes related to trade processing, clearing, settlement, custody, and asset servicing.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirement sessions, and impact assessments.
• Support UAT planning, execution, defect management, and production rollout activities.
• Collaborate with front-office, middle-office, and back-office teams to ensure end-to-end business process alignment.
• Assist in regulatory, operational, and technology transformation initiatives within Capital Markets environments.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience within Capital Markets or Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including:
• Trade Capture
• Confirmation & Matching
• Clearing
• Settlement
• Custody
• Reconciliations
• Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with DTCC products/services such as:
• CTM (Central Trade Manager)
• ALERT
• Institutional Trade Processing (ITP)
• NSCC
• DTC
• TradeSuite
• Experience with other depositories, custodians, or clearing organizations.
• Knowledge of securities processing across Equities, Fixed Income, ETFs, or Derivatives.
• Exposure to SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022, FIX protocol, or post-trade processing platforms.
• Understanding of regulatory and operational controls within Capital Markets environments.

Nice to Have

• Prime Brokerage experience.
• Asset Management or Custody Operations background.
• Experience supporting digital transformation, system migration, or settlement modernization initiatives.
• Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, CFA, or similar.
