Canada Indigenous Loan Guarantee Corporation (CILGC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDEV), is responsible for evaluating, structuring, issuing, and managing loan guarantees that help Indigenous groups access capital and participate meaningfully in Canada's economic future.

The Opportunity

CILGC is seeking talented Analysts and Associates to join its Execution team in Toronto. Working alongside an experienced group of investment, lending, and infrastructure professionals, you'll support the evaluation and execution of complex loan guarantee transactions while helping manage an expanding portfolio of investments.

Depending on your level of experience, you'll contribute to or lead financial analysis, transaction execution, due diligence, financial modelling, credit assessment, portfolio management, and stakeholder coordination. This role offers significant exposure to large-scale infrastructure and project finance transactions, senior decision-makers, and Indigenous partners across Canada.

What You'll Do

• Conduct financial, credit, and commercial analysis of loan guarantee applications.
• Build, maintain, and review complex financial models supporting transaction evaluation and ongoing portfolio management.
• Perform industry, market, and project research to identify key opportunities and risks.
• Support the assessment, structuring, execution, and monitoring of loan guarantee transactions.
• Prepare credit memoranda, investment committee materials, Board presentations, and briefing documents.
• Coordinate financial, legal, technical, commercial, and other due diligence workstreams alongside internal teams and external advisors.
• Work closely with Indigenous partners, lenders, project sponsors, advisors, and government stakeholders throughout transaction execution.
• Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, risk reporting, and borrower performance.
• Maintain high-quality transaction documentation while ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial models, analytical tools, internal processes, and risk frameworks.
• Associates will also have opportunities to coordinate transaction workstreams, manage advisor relationships, and provide guidance to junior team members.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 1-5+ years of relevant experience (1-2 for Analyst, 3-5+ for Associate) in investment banking, corporate banking, commercial lending, project finance, infrastructure finance, corporate finance, valuations, private credit, transaction advisory, or other related financial services environments.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills with experience evaluating complex transactions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office; experience with Bloomberg, Power BI, VBA, or other analytical tools is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare materials for senior leadership and Boards.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative mindset, high level of integrity, and genuine interest in contributing to Indigenous economic participation and reconciliation.
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant professional designation (or progress toward one) is considered an asset.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Business/Commerce, or Economics.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience, which may include transaction execution, credit analysis, risk assessment and management, commercial or corporate lending, debt financing, project finance, major capital projects, portfolio management, valuations, or investment appraisal. Experience related to infrastructure, energy, natural resources, or Indigenous economic participation initiatives is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to build, maintain, review, and manipulate integrated financial models in support of credit and transaction analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, VBA, etc.), PowerPoint, Word, and Bloomberg. Additional digital enablement, data analytics, or coding skills are considered an asset.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise, and professional briefing materials, credit memoranda, and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors, with appropriate oversight.
• Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism when interacting with Indigenous partners, external advisors, lenders, project sponsors, Government of Canada officials, and other stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates a high standard of integrity, diligence, and ethical conduct.
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) is an asset.

Salary Range

$90K-$140K + Bonus
