Job Overview

An established higher education and training institution is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable CHE Tutor to provide academic support and guidance to students enrolled in various higher education programmes. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating student success through tutoring, academic mentoring, assessment support, and learner engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Support
• Provide tutoring and academic assistance to students across assigned modules.
• Facilitate individual and group learning sessions.
• Assist students in understanding course content, assignments, and assessment requirements.
• Support students in developing effective study skills and academic strategies.
• Learner Engagement
• Monitor student progress and identify learners requiring additional support.
• Encourage student participation and engagement in academic activities.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve learner performance.
• Maintain regular communication with students and academic staff.
• Assessment Support
• Assist with the preparation and administration of assessments.
• Provide guidance on assignments, projects, and examination preparation.
• Support moderation and quality assurance processes where required.

Duties

• Maintain accurate student records and attendance registers.
• Prepare reports on student performance and intervention activities.
• Assist with academic administration and learner support documentation.
• Participate in institutional meetings and academic planning sessions.

• Ensure all tutoring activities align with higher education quality standards.
• Support compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the academic department.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Education, Commerce, Business Management, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Previous tutoring, lecturing, facilitation, or academic support experience preferred.
• Understanding of higher education academic practices and assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online learning platforms.
