Accountant

Role Summary

Sportlux Swiss SA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support the day-to-day finance operations of our growing international business. The role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensuring compliance with Swiss accounting standards and internal controls.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• General Accounting
• Record and maintain accurate accounting entries in accordance with Swiss GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany balances.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Accounts Payable
• Process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
• Prepare and execute payment runs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure proper approval workflows and supporting documentation.
• Accounts Receivable
• Issue customer invoices and credit notes.
• Monitor customer payments and outstanding balances.
• Follow up on overdue receivables with internal stakeholders.
• Reconcile customer accounts.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Assist in preparing monthly management reports and financial statements.
• Support statutory audits and provide documentation requested by auditors.
• Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory filings.
• Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting regulations and internal policies.
• Treasury & Cash Management
• Perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash balances and assist with cash flow reporting.
• Support treasury activities and payment processing.
• Business Support
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Support inventory reconciliations and stock accounting where applicable.
• Collaborate with Finance, Logistics, Sales, and Operations to resolve accounting queries.
• Participate in finance process improvement initiatives and automation projects.
• Support ad hoc projects and reporting requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional accounting qualification (or working towards one) is an advantage.3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an international company.

Experience in wholesale, retail, fashion, or consumer goods is preferred.

Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Fluent in English; Italian is highly preferred. German or French is an advantage.
