Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for a group of patients during the designated shift, delivering nursing care based on the nursing process and aligned with the medical plan of care Prescribe or implement nursing care based on patient input, collaborating with physicians and the broader health care team Coordinate delivery of care for patients of any age within the ED, including neonatal to geriatric, adapting to unit assignment Incorporate teaching and discharge planning needs into the overall plan of care for patients and families Delegate appropriate aspects of care to other nursing staff according to current clinical competence and scope of practice Provide triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients in an acute care ED setting, ensuring timely assessment and appropriate interventions Maintain thorough documentation, uphold patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Active California RN license (or eligibility) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Emergency department experience preferred; strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to a fast-paced ED environment Graduation from an approved nursing program (RN) (ADN or BSN acceptable) Effective collaboration with diverse care teams and ability to educate patients and families
