Business Analyst – Fund Administration / Derivatives Modernization

Location: Downtown Toronto, ON

Work Model: Hybrid – 4 days onsite per week

We are seeking experienced Business Analysts to support a large-scale derivatives platform modernization initiative within a leading financial services organization. This strategic program will replace an existing derivatives platform with a modern solution designed to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and reporting capabilities.

This role is ideal for Business Analysts with strong documentation skills and experience working within fund administration, fund accounting, derivatives, or capital markets environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and project teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
• Develop detailed business requirements documents, functional specifications, and process documentation
• Create user guides, training materials, and operational runbooks to support implementation and ongoing support activities
• Translate complex business and technical concepts into clear, actionable documentation
• Facilitate communication between business users and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Support project delivery activities by providing analysis, documentation, and stakeholder coordination
• Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and gap identification
• Contribute to user acceptance testing activities and implementation readiness efforts

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of Business Analysis experience within financial services environments
• Experience supporting projects involving fund administration, fund accounting, derivatives, capital markets, or investment operations
• Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping capabilities
• Demonstrated experience working with both business and technology stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting derivatives platforms, trading systems, or settlement processes
• Knowledge of fund accounting platforms, NAV calculations, or portfolio management systems
• Previous experience supporting system implementations or modernization initiatives
• Experience creating operational procedures, runbooks, and end-user documentation
• Exposure to change management activities and user training
• Experience leading or supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Previous experience working in trading, operations, or investment administration teams
