About This PositionThe Neighborhood Services Department's (NSD) mission is to preserve, enhance, and engage Phoenix neighborhoods.
NSD serves its communities as a smaller city department with approximately 200 positions across four main divisions: Administrative Services, Neighborhood Preservation, Neighborhood Revitalization, and Neighborhood Engagement.NSD is seeking a creative and experienced IT leader to serve as Technology Manager, responsible for understanding and ensuring the business needs of the department are met utilizing the City's information technology infrastructure and Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products.
The NSD Technology Manager will be the primary liaison with the City's Information Technology Services (ITS) Department, its COTS vendors, and IT peers throughout the City to develop and maintain partnerships. These relationships are crucial to the success of NSD. The position supervises a section of approximately two direct and one indirect IT positions across various disciplines.
The NSD Technology Manager needs to have a large breadth of technical knowledge to be able to effectively automate and support NSD's myriad business needs while understanding the capabilities available at the City and in potential COTS products.
The position is responsible for providing comprehensive analytics reporting, finalizing the replacement of its legacy systems, ensuring that business needs are captured and documented at the speed of change, and that business needs are automated where possible. As processes are automated by a system, NSD staff will be able to focus on supporting its communities at higher speed and accuracy.
As analytics reporting of these systems is enhanced, NSD's management will have faster and better insights into changing laws, policies, and procedures that support City staff and its communities.
