FP&A Analyst (100%)

Join MDPI's FP&A and Corporate Finance team as an FP&A Analyst, where you will transform financial data into strategic insights that drive business decisions. Working on-site in Basel, you will collaborate with finance teams across our European and North American operations, preparing comprehensive analyses and forecasts that shape our company's direction.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly variance analyses, comparing actual results against prior year performance and current forecasts
• Build and maintain financial models, update forecasts, and create dashboards using data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to track key performance indicators
• Support the forecasting process for all MDPI offices, ensuring accurate projections and communicating results clearly to management
• Collect and prepare financial reports according to MDPI reporting standards, supporting continuous improvement of reporting processes and data quality
• Collaborate with AR and Accounting teams to validate revenue booking and streamline the month-end closing process
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and support new projects related to financial reporting and analysis
• Participate in the consolidation of the group's financial statements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, or business economics (Master's degree or Swiss federal certificate in finance/accounting is a plus)2+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, Controlling, Reporting, or Corporate Finance
• Experience with forecasting and variance analysis is essential; international company experience is advantageous
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft O365, Power BI, SQL, and financial analysis tools
• English proficiency at C1 level required;
• German at B1 level or higher
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to transform financial data into practical insights and communicate findings effectively
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
