Senior Transportation Manager

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Senior Transportation Manager to support our dedicated delivery vertical within the Automotive, Engineering and Manufacturing sector. Candidates must have proven experience serving as the primary site leader with full responsibility for managing their own dynamic domestic transportation network. Experience leading a dedicated delivery operation is strongly preferred.

This role also requires strong P&L experience, including the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive financial performance.

Priority consideration will be given to candidates currently located in the Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, area.(The Senior Transportation Manager title is equivalent to the General Manager title here internally at DHL) Transportation is a pillar for any supply chain, and at DHL Supply Chain you are a part of everyday life; because a storm or the breakdown of a truck shouldn’t stop our customer’s products from getting to the consumer when they need them the most.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop solutions and maximize capabilities of Transportation Fleet Software & TMS
• Leverage transportation related tools to enable data housing and reporting, delivery tracking/notification and visibility to overall transportation processes
• Experience with network optimization processes and tools that manage a large dynamic network
• Optimization and enablement of efficiencies related to a large, dedicated fleet of >150 nationwide trucks
• Developing Partner Carrier relationships, maximizing performance and efficiencies with more than 1,600 deliveries per week
• Develop relationships internal DHL partners in Columbus Control Tower, Equipment and Transportation IT to maximize opportunity
• Drive multi-model delivery network performance- dedicated multi-stop(touch freight), carrier multi-stop, straight truck
• Carrier procurement/RFP experience for a diverse transportation network
• Ensure customer/vendor contract requirements are administered and enforced
• Monitor service levels and customer satisfaction to ensure performance meets customer/vendor, and DHL Supply Chain (balanced scorecard) contractual requirements. Report on performance measures.

Required Education and Experience

• 5-7 years experience in transportation management role, required
• Dedicated Deliver experience within a 3PL environment is preferred
• Experience managing drivers is required.
