Piper Companies is seeking a Python Developer to join a growing technology-focused organization in the Raleigh-Durham area. The Python Developer role is ideal for an early-career software engineer with strong Python fundamentals, hands-on automation experience, and a track record of impactful internships and personal development projects.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers while contributing to automation initiatives and software development efforts in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities of the Python Developer: Develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and automation solutions. Create scripts and tools to streamline operational and business processes. Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams on software development projects. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications and automation workflows.
Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices. Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the engineering team.
Qualifications of the Python Developer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 0-2 years of professional experience, including internship experience focused on software development or automation. Strong proficiency with Python and object-oriented programming concepts.
Demonstrated personal projects involving Python development, scripting, automation, APIs, or related technologies. Experience with version control tools such as Git. Familiarity with Linux environments and basic cloud concepts is preferred. Exposure to Ansible or other infrastructure automation tools is a plus. Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn in a team-oriented environment.
Compensation for the Python Developer includes:
$75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO Hybrid work schedule with 1 day per week onsite in Durham, NCThis job opens for applications on 07/16/2026.
