Budget & Management Analyst (DOQ)

What You'll Be Doing

As a Budget and Management Analyst, you help strengthen the County’s ability to make smart, data-informed decisions. You collaborate with departments to develop, evaluate and analyze county operating and capital budgets. You contribute to long term planning, support organization-wide initiatives, and ensure leaders have the information they need to serve a fast-growing community.

In This Role, You Will

• Manage a portfolio that may include operating departments, capital programs, special revenue funds, enterprise funds and office functional activities.
• Support annual work plan initiatives, projects, and operational processes. Assist with research, analysis, and project coordination activities to help identify issues and advance solutions.
• Assist in developing the annual operating and capital budgets that support the Strategic Plan, operational business plans, and other department and County Manager-directed priorities.
• Build proficiency in County systems to perform projections, modeling, and analysis.
• Conduct analysis and research on budget, performance, operations and policy issues to support financial and policy discussions. Develop solutions and options for proceeding in collaboration with stakeholder partners.
• Prepare written communications and presentations to others that effectively describe budgetary challenges, solutions and conclusions. Facilitate status and decision meetings with department and County leadership.
• Participate in countywide planning efforts, committee work, and policy development.
• Lead or support special projects and research that inform County priorities.
