SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST - CORPORATE FP&A

Our client, a family owned company with multiple business units, is seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Senior Financial Analyst to join their Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this individual will play a critical role in supporting enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, and strategic decision-making.

As a key member of a family-owned organization, this role requires a hands-on professional who can balance strong financial acumen with a practical understanding of business operations.

The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with leaders across the organization to provide meaningful financial insights, identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements, and help preserve the company's long-term financial success.

This position offers broad exposure to executive leadership and the unique opportunity to influence strategic initiatives within a collaborative, values-driven environment. This role will be on-site five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead the monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
Prepare and maintain detailed financial models supporting revenue, operating expenses, cash flow, capital expenditures, and profitability.
Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior-year results, identifying key drivers and trends.
Develop scenario analyses and sensitivity models to support strategic planning and investment decisions.

Reporting & Business Insights

Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages for executive leadership and ownership.
Deliver concise financial analysis and recommendations regarding business performance, operating trends, and strategic initiatives.
Create dashboards and KPI reporting to improve visibility into financial and operational performance.
Present findings and recommendations to finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Business Partnership

Partner with department leaders across operations, sales, HR, and other functional areas to develop budgets and monitor financial performance.
Assist business leaders in evaluating spending decisions, resource allocations, and investment opportunities.
Serve as a trusted advisor by translating financial results into actionable business insights.

Strategic Analysis

Support mergers and acquisitions evaluations, capital investment analyses, and other corporate initiatives as needed.
Conduct profitability and return-on-investment analyses for key business programs and projects.
Evaluate risks and opportunities impacting financial performance and recommend appropriate actions.

Process Improvement

Continuously improve budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial planning processes.
Enhance reporting automation and leverage financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Assist with implementation and optimization of FP&A tools, reporting platforms, and data analytics capabilities.

Corporate Finance Support

Support cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis.
Collaborate with Accounting during month-end close to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist in preparing presentations and financial materials for executive leadership, lenders, and ownership.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.

Experience

5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, investment banking, public accounting, or related fields.
Experience supporting multi-department budgeting and forecasting processes.
Experience within a privately held or family-owned business environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools.
Strong proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and visualization platforms preferred.
Ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into meaningful business recommendations.
