Role Description

The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including processing invoices, recording journal entries, reconciling bank and ledger accounts, and monitoring expenses and revenues. The role will support month-end and year-end closings, assist with financial reporting, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls.

The Accountant will collaborate with internal stakeholders on budgeting, cost tracking, and inventory-related accounting, and will help prepare documentation for audits and tax filings. This is a part-time (40-80%), on-site role based in Widnau, working closely with the finance and operations teams to maintain accurate and timely financial information that supports business decisions.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS or local GAAP).
• Candidates should possess financial reporting and analysis skills, such as preparing balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and supporting management with budgeting and forecasting.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and productivity tools, including ERP or finance systems, Excel, and other spreadsheet or reporting applications.
• Candidates should possess attention to detail and quality-focused skills, including data accuracy, error detection, and adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.
• Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, explain financial information clearly, and maintain professional relationships.
• Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and professional certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) are beneficial.
• Experience in apparel, manufacturing, or retail environments, and familiarity with inventory and cost accounting, is an advantage.
