What is the opportunity?

This team is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and complete checks are systematically in place for Capital Markets trading activities, from a pre- and post-trade perspective.

The individual in this role is primarily responsible for owning the process of gathering business requirements from stakeholders, translating the requirements into user stories, working with users to complete various user-acceptance testing, contributing to key design discussions, providing support for platform evolution efforts, responding to user queries, along with providing subject matter expertise on capital markets products, regulations and landscape.

This individual in this role will be self-motivated, comfortable taking ownership of new initiatives, and a team player with a growth mindset.

The role works closely with several areas of the Firm to support the above functions, including various business groups within the Firm, Supervision, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and other Technology groups.

The individual in this role will be responsible for conducting impact assessment, gap analysis, functional and technical requirement analysis and working with various internal cross functional teams to understand and document the business requirements. A strong background in OTC derivative products and experience with regulatory regimes (Dodd-Frank, RMR, SEC, MIFID, etc.) is required to succeed in this role.

What will you do?

• Review and analyze new business, rule changes or system changes that impact the post-trade Swap Violation processes and perform associated testing / checkouts.
• Liaise with stakeholders, project, and technology teams to integrate Rates derivatives SRT product flows from Rates Murex to Fortress for post-trade regulatory checks.
• Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, new systems/projects to ensure maximum usability.
• Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis.
• Remediation of reporting anomalies (raise JIRAs, document requirements, and perform checkout etc.)
• Develop UAT strategy, document test cases and execute testing of applicable regulatory, business or control changes.
• Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development.
• Drive process improvement or re-engineering–

o Identify and implement automation opportunities.

o Drive awareness of requirements and identify substandard systems processes.

• Development and implementation of controls to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of reporting.
• Document, revise and maintain procedures as required; ensure team is trained on all procedures.
• Respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.
• Produce presentations for a range of stakeholders highlighting achievements, regulatory checks metrics, regulatory risks and change management initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison for Regulatory Technology Services on assigned projects.
• Ensure Regulatory Technology Services is informed of program developments and potential impacts to existing processes and reporting logic.
• Acts as an effective layer of escalation for junior or less experienced staff on complex issues.

What you need to succeed?

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required, preferably in Engineering or Business or a related subject
• Strong understanding of financial products (Equities, Listed Derivatives, Fixed Income, and/or OTC Derivatives) and US regulatory reporting requirements.
• Understanding of complex options trading to include options allocations.
• Strong understanding of the trade life cycle (Orders, Executions, Allocations) is required.
• Experience working with Front Office technology and systems.
• Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
• Proficiency with Murex is preferred.
• Understanding of trade/transaction data warehousing and reference data sourcing
• Technical mindset with basic understanding of SQL and VBA a plus
• Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
