Senior Software Developer (.NET / Snowflake / Oracle)

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (.NET / Snowflake / Oracle) to join our dynamic team and support one of our clients.

Contract Details

• Contract Duration: ASAP to December 24, 2026 (with a strong possibility of extension into 2027)
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the client's downtown Toronto office)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust solutions to migrate and modernize C#/.NET applications from Oracle to Snowflake, including enhancements to the data access layer and performance optimization for the target cloud data platform.
• Lead the migration of Oracle database objects by converting Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures into Snowflake stored procedures and dbt-based data transformation pipelines, ensuring data integrity, application compatibility, and optimal performance.
• Analyze and resolve technical challenges associated with legacy application and database modernization while maintaining business continuity and reporting accuracy.
• Develop, test, and deploy scalable, high-quality software solutions that align with established architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions with senior team members to ensure solution quality, maintainability, and adherence to architectural standards.
• Complete assigned development tasks within project timelines while maintaining a high standard of quality and technical excellence.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and task status effectively to stakeholders and team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise applications and data solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance application performance, reliability, and development processes.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Sound knowledge of current information systems theories, concepts, and software development techniques.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on software design and development experience, including expertise in:
• C#, .NET, and .NET Core
• SQL and Python
• Oracle relational databases
• Migrating and modernizing legacy database logic (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL) to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
• Multi-threaded application development
• AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent coding assistants
• Azure cloud services, particularly:
• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure Key Vault

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with the following technologies will be considered a strong asset:

• Snowflake, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and data modeling
• dbt (data build tool) for building and orchestrating data transformation workflows
• CI/CD tools such as CloudBees, Jenkins, UrbanCode, or similar
• Experience developing large-scale, high-performance enterprise applications
• Experience building financial reporting solutions or other data-driven enterprise applications
