Junior Accountant (Full Time) – Toronto, ON

Evanov Communications is looking for a Junior Accountant that will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of approved invoices and payments and ensuring accurate financial records. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be detailed oriented with a passion for numbers, accuracy, and organization.

THE CREATION – What you’ll do (includes but not limited to)

• Contribute to the full cycle accounts payable process (multi-entity, multi-currency)
• Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, proper approvals, and adherence to the vendor’s payment terms
• Prepare and perform weekly cheque run to ensure payments are accurately organized for processing within agreed terms
• Record employee expenses and employee credit card transactions, including verification of receipts, coding in proper general ledger accounts, ensuring proper approvals
• Prepare and maintain A/P subledger
• Perform intercompany accounts for multi-entity
• Recording and maintaining journal and account entries, reconciling accounts and investigating variances
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Support additional Accounting Department duties, as assigned.

THE ENERGY – Bring your vibe

• One to three years of experience in accounts payable and/or general accounting
• Accounting Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or any other relevant field or equivalent
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounts payable
• Experience with Great Plains software an asset
• Excels in problem-solving with an aptitude for details along with time management and process improvement skills
• Experience with vendor management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience reviewing bank statements, preparing reconciliations, and investigating variances
• Extremely detail oriented and attention to accuracy
• Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn
• Strong interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills
