HR Manager

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions at our unionized manufacturing facility. This position requires a proactive HR professional with experience in labor relations, employee engagement, and organizational compliance. You will serve as a strategic advisor to plant leadership and ensure HR practices align with business goals and legal requirements.

Salary: 120k to 130k DOELocation: Montgomery, IL

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic HR business partner to site leadership, driving initiatives that support workforce development and plant performance.
• Lead union relations, including grievance resolution, contract interpretation, and support in collective bargaining negotiations.
• Build and maintain a positive work environment through strong employee relations practices, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of talent, ensuring alignment with staffing needs and compliance standards.
• Guide managers through the performance management process and disciplinary procedures.
• Lead HR compliance activities in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Maintain HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and labor cost trends.
• Ensure effective use of HR systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, SAP, Workday) for employee data, payroll, timekeeping, and reporting.
• Collaborate with corporate HR and payroll to ensure accurate benefits and compensation administration.
• Lead employee engagement and safety culture initiatives.
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a union facility.
• Strong background in labor relations, employee engagement, and organizational development.
• Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience with HRIS and timekeeping platforms such as ADP, Kronos, SAP, or Workday.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build trust, influence decisions, and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
