Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting within our growing construction business. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in construction accounting, cost control, budgeting, project-based accounting, subcontractor payments, and financial compliance within the local region.

The candidate must have excellent knowledge of accounting standards, VAT regulations, cash flow management, and the ability to support management with accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Handle project-based accounting and monitor construction project costs, budgets, and profitability.
• Track project expenses, material costs, subcontractor invoices, and supplier payments.
• Monitor cash flow, payment schedules, and company financial obligations.
• Prepare and maintain budgets, cost forecasts, and variance analysis for ongoing construction projects.
• Process payroll coordination, employee reimbursements, and final settlement calculations.
• Ensure compliance with local regional VAT regulations, tax filings, and statutory financial requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits and prepare required documentation.
• Monitor accounts receivable collections and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory accounting records.
• Review purchase orders, contracts, and payment certifications from a financial perspective.
• Support management with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Ensure proper documentation, filing, and accounting record management.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction or contracting industry in the local regional.
• Strong experience in construction accounting, project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of local regional VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling subcontractor payments, supplier reconciliation, and project cost monitoring.
• Proficiency in ERP systems / accounting software (preferably **ERPNext, Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar systems).
• Advanced Excel skills including financial reporting and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA / ACCA / CPA / CMA qualification will be an advantage.
• Prior experience in local regional construction or contracting companies preferred.
• Knowledge of project billing, retention accounting, and contract-based financial management preferred.
