General Accountant- Excise Tax

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant - Excise Tax to manage accounting operations, excise tax compliance, VAT processes, and financial reporting for our tobacco manufacturing/trading operations in the UAE. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of UAE excise tax regulations, inventory reconciliation, and manufacturing accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and reconciliations.
• Manage UAE Excise Tax compliance and filing requirements.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UAE FTA regulations.
• Monitor excise goods movement, inventory records, and warehouse reconciliation.
• Coordinate with customs, logistics, and warehouse teams regarding excise-related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations and requirements.
• Assist during FTA audits, internal audits, and external audits.
• Perform monthly closing activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain proper documentation for accounting and tax purposes.
• Support management with financial analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate with ERP/accounting systems for accurate reporting and inventory tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3- 5 years of UAE accounting experience.
• Mandatory experience in UAE Excise Tax handling.
• Mandatory experience in tobacco manufacturing/trading industry
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and FTA regulations.
• Experience in inventory reconciliation and manufacturing accounting.
