Our client, a leading UAE-based manufacturing and distribution business, is seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to lead its accounting function and manage a team of six finance professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Chief Accountant or Accounting Manager ready to take the next step in their career within a well-established and growing organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the GM Finance, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and effective management of the company's accounting operations.

Key responsibilities include

• Leading the day-to-day accounting function, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Managing monthly, quarterly and annual financial close in line with IFRS.
• Overseeing cost accounting, inventory valuation and stock control across manufacturing operations.
• Managing product costing, BOM validation and inventory reconciliations.
• Leading external audits, VAT compliance and statutory reporting.
• Driving improvements in financial processes, controls and ERP utilisation.
• Managing and developing a team of six accounting professionals.
• Partnering with operations, supply chain and commercial teams to support business performance.

About You

We are looking for an operational finance leader who enjoys being hands-on and is looking to progress into a broader leadership position.

You will ideally have

• A degree in Accounting or Finance, with ACCA, CPA or CMA qualifications being advantageous.
• Around 10+ years' accounting experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, cost accounting and inventory management.
• Experience managing month-end close, audits and compliance.
• Previous leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Previous Big 4 experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
