Financial / Cost Controller

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Financial / Cost Controller to lead and manage the organisation’s financial and accounting activities. You will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, robust internal controls, and sound cost management — acting as a business partner to management by providing financial insight, supporting decisions, and driving operational and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS/GAAP.- Ensure timely, accurate reporting to management, shareholders, and regulatory authorities.- Maintain compliance with statutory, tax (including UAE VAT), and corporate governance requirements.- Coordinate and manage external and internal audits and regulatory reviews.- Oversee GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, payroll, and treasury functions.- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and transactions.- Manage month-end and year-end close within established timelines.- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting across the organisation.- Monitor performance against budget, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.- Perform cost analysis and expense monitoring to protect and improve margins.- Support strategic planning through financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business cases.- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control frameworks.- Identify financial and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.- Safeguard company assets through effective control mechanisms.- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.- Optimise cash management and banking relationships.- Oversee treasury operations including funding, payment controls, and financial risk.- Collaborate with department heads to support business objectives and financial performance.- Act as a trusted advisor to management on financial matters and strategic initiatives.- Mentor and support the finance and accounting team, fostering accuracy and accountability.
