Accountant

We are seeking an experienced General Accountant to join a growing organisation in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to month-end and year-end reporting.

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong background in French accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and previous experience within a Big 4 accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and capital expenditure documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and support management reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulatory requirements.
• Support VAT preparation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Assist external auditors during annual audits and provide required documentation.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen financial controls.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting or finance.
• French accounting experience is mandatory.
• Previous Big 4 experience is mandatory.
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Proactive mindset with strong time management skills.
