General Accountant - Contracting Industry Experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant with 2–4 years of accounting experience in the contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project accounting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and UAE financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, journals, ledgers, and general ledger accounts.
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare supplier and subcontractor payment schedules.
• Monitor project costs and allocate expenses to individual projects.
• Assist in preparing project cost reports, budget monitoring, and profitability analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management reports.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare VAT calculations and assist in VAT return filing in accordance with UAE regulations.
• Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting standards.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
• Coordinate with procurement, project, and operations teams regarding invoices, purchase orders, and project-related expenses.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience in the contracting, construction, or engineering industry.
• Good understanding of project accounting and cost allocation.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems, or Oracle).
• Experience in preparing reconciliations and financial statements.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
