Accounting Manager

The department of Finance at the American University in Dubai invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Accounting Manager to start immediately. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

The prime responsibility of the Accounting Manager is the overall financial bookkeeping of AUD:

Principal Responsibilities

Manage the accounts payable function

Review all purchase requisitions to ensure that AUD’s purchasing policies and procedures are respected

Prepare vendor checks for the signature of the President and Vice President

Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly basis

Control and reconcile the petty cash fund

Record all of AUD’s financial transactions on Great Plains Dynamics Software

Analyze and prepare students refunds

Reconcile monthly bank statements on the 2nd business day of the month

Maintain and control the Fixed Assets Register

Assume miscellaneous projects as assigned

Competencies and Skills Utilized

Ability to work well under pressure

Ability to communicate effectively and to the point

Essential Qualifications

Accounting degree from an accredited Western institution

Accounting experience

Computer skills

Organizational skills

Detail oriented

Analytical skills

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Experience of working in a truly multi-cultural setting and adaptability and resourcefulness are definite advantages.
