Retail Auditor Cum Accountant - Arab Speaker

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Retail Auditor cum Accountant to join our growing team in the UAE. This dual-function role is critical to maintaining the financial health and operational integrity of our mobile and accessories retail trading business.

The ideal candidate will split their expertise between robust accounting practices and rigorous retail auditing. You will ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations (including Corporate Tax and VAT), maintain accurate ledgers, and perform regular inventory and cash audits across our retail outlets to minimize shrinkage and optimize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

• Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Compliance: Prepare and file accurate quarterly UAE VAT returns and ensure adherence to UAE Corporate Tax regulations.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow forecasts.
• Reconciliation: Conduct daily bank reconciliations, POS system reconciliations, and supplier statement verifications.
• Payroll: Manage monthly payroll processing and Ensure WPS (Wage Protection System) compliance.

2. Retail Auditing & Stock Control

• Inventory Audits: Plan, schedule, and conduct regular physical stock counts and random surprise audits across all retail branches and warehouses.
• Variance Analysis: Investigate discrepancies between physical stock and POS/ERP system data for high-value items (e.g., smartphones, smartwatches, premium accessories).
• Loss Prevention: Identify areas of stock shrinkage, damages, or potential fraud, and implement strict internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Cash Audits: Audit daily cash collections, safe balances, and credit card settlements at the store level.
• Process Review: Evaluate the efficiency of retail operations, ensuring store staff adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stock receiving, transfers, and sales.

Skills and QualificationsRequired

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CMA, or CPA) are a major plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting, ideally with at least 2 years in the UAE retail sector (experience in electronics, mobiles, or consumer goods trading is highly preferred).
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with retail ERP software (e.g., Odoo) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of UAE FTA laws, VAT regulations, and corporate tax structures.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently to various retail store locations across the UAE for physical audits.

Soft Skills

• High level of integrity, ethical standards, and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to trace financial and stock discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is an advantage) to collaborate with both store staff and senior management.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
