Job Brief

The Assistant Tax Manager is responsible for managing all direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including the UAE, India, Vietnam, KSA, Qatar, and other regions where the company operates.

The role involves ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, supporting the implementation of UAE Corporate Tax, conducting internal reviews, maintaining tax controls, and advising on tax applicability for business transactions.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in taxation, hands-on compliance experience, and the ability to guide internal teams while ensuring end-to-end adherence to tax laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing compliance for all countries where the company operates (UAE, India, Vietnam, KSA, Qatar, and other applicable jurisdictions).
• Support management in the implementation of UAE Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, CIT, and other applicable tax returns.
• Coordinate with accounting and treasury teams to ensure tax dues are paid on time.
• Conduct monthly tax reviews and reconciliations for all entities, ensuring proper recording of tax balances and accruals in the books of accounts.
• Provide monthly reports to the Corporate Finance Controller and Internal Audit & Compliance teams regarding the company’s tax status, submissions, and declarations.
• Perform quarterly internal audits and compliance checks on tax ledgers, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Review agreements, contracts, and forms to advise on CIT/VAT applicability and relevant tax clauses based on business scenarios.
• Review and implement processes ensuring end-to-end compliance with VAT, CIT, Withholding Tax, Excise, Customs, and other applicable tax laws.
• Stay updated with tax rules and regulations across all relevant jurisdictions; provide internal updates and conduct training sessions for business units.
• Manage tax audits (internal and external) and lead coordination efforts.
• Support the IT department with tax-related system setups for CIT, WHT, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
• Conduct tax savings analysis and implement strategies to optimize tax efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct and indirect taxes within a large corporate or consultancy firm.
• Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or ACCA are preferred.
• Strong understanding of tax laws and their practical implementation to ensure compliance.
• Ability to visualize real-life business scenarios and ensure full tax compliance.
• Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax laws, and regulations across relevant jurisdictions.
• Experience in preparing and submitting VAT, CIT, and other mandatory tax returns and payments.
• Hands-on experience implementing direct and indirect tax policies and processes.
• Strong ability to resolve tax queries raised by business units, customers, suppliers, and auditors.
• Experience in reviewing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls related to VAT, CIT, and other taxes.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain tax strategies, compliance frameworks, and internal procedures.
