Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IFRS Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate must be a qualified CA, CPA, or ACCA with an additional certification in IFRS and strong practical experience in IFRS interpretation, application, and reporting.

The role requires the ability to evaluate how IFRS standards apply to the business, assess their financial impact, and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting and communication of key findings to management.

Job Profile:

• Analyze and interpret IFRS standards to determine their applicability to specific business scenarios and transactions.
• Prepare reports with accounting treatments after thoroughly understanding the relevant IFRS standard, its application to the specific business case, its impact on financials (P&L, balance sheet,cash flows and future operations), and present key findings to management.
• Develop technical accounting memos and position papers to support accounting treatments and disclosures under IFRS.
• Ensure preparation of accurate IFRS-compliant financial statements and related notes. This would include both consolidated and stand-alone financial statements.
• Review and assess the impact of new and revised IFRS standards and provide guidance for implementation.
• Advise cross-functional teams on appropriate accounting treatment in line with IFRS requirements.
• Provide technical expertise in key IFRS areas, including:
• IAS 12 - income taxes
• IFRIC 12 – service concession arrangements
• IAS 38 – intangible assets
• IFRS 16 - leases
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing technical clarity and documentation on complex accounting matters.
• Maintain and update internal accounting policies to align with the latest IFRS standards.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for finance teams to build awareness and understanding of IFRS standards.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure accurate accounting and compliance in reporting practices.

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or ACCA with Bachelors Degree.
• Additional certification/diploma in IFRS (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IFRS application and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of IFRS standards and practical experience in applying them to real-world business cases.
• ERP experience, preferably Oracle.
• Proven ability to assess and communicate the financial impact of IFRS standards.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with prSoecision and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with auditors, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
• IFRS desk or Professional Practice experience with a Big 4 firm would be an added advantage.
• Salary: AED 11,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
