Senior Finance Specialist Indirect Taxation

The senior finance specialist - indirect taxation ensures compliance of indirect taxes including the UAE VAT, excise tax, and other indirect taxes (excluding ticket taxes). This role helps drive accuracy, analysing risks, and timely reporting while supporting line manager and other senior management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the compliance is managed with accuracy and integrity.

In this role, you will:

Collaborate closely with various stakeholders to identify, evaluate and review respective stakeholders activities and functions and provide compliance assurance to senior management on applicable indirect taxes (except ticket taxes), process and system enhancements for managing overall risk, coordinate with the relevant stakeholders.

Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and specific work instructions and ensure compliance to the group finance policies and procedures. Work with the external, internal and government auditors to resolve their queries and observations by providing the required analytical information to ensure the smooth completion of the audit.

Ensure timely compilation and filing of UAE VAT returns on periodic basis after completion of accounting reconciliation between return and OF.Participate in discussions on VAT implementation for new business processes within Emirates Group. Manage FTA audits and ensure UAE VAT compliance and conduct regular reviews of processes and systems impacting UAE VAT reporting.

Participate in strategy indirect tax and constantly look for process improvisation of compliance of indirect taxes.

QualificationTo be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

Experience in finance, accounts & taxation 5 years with specific experience in indirect taxation for at least 3 years.

Qualification - Chartered Accountant/ACCA.Working experience in Big 4 is preferred.

Youll have an edge if you have:

Accounting and taxation knowledge - advanced level.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior management internally and externally.

Analytical thinking and presentation skills - advanced level.
