Regional Sales Manager

Duties

• Lead, motivate, and coach a team of outside sales representatives to maximize their performance and professional development.
• Identify new business opportunities through market analysis, prospecting, and networking within the scientific, medical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, or scientific researchers to showcase product benefits.
• Manage existing client accounts by building strong relationships, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and deal terms that benefit both the client and the company while maintaining profitability.
• Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems effectively to track sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional strategies for territory expansion.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for growth and develop action plans accordingly.
• Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to increase brand visibility and establish strategic partnerships.

Skills

• Proven expertise in B2B (business-to-business) sales within the scientific or medical equipment industries.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing complex deals successfully.
• Extensive account management experience with a focus on customer relationship building and retention.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing field sales teams or outside sales representatives.
• Technical sales experience involving scientific or medical products; ability to conduct compelling product demos.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems for effective territory management.
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to engage diverse stakeholders confidently.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical mindset capable of interpreting sales data to inform strategic decisions.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device sales is highly desirable.
• Outside sales experience with a focus on enterprise selling strategies across healthcare institutions or research facilities.
